We’re excited for the first NYC BigApps Hackathon this weekend! The Hackathon will help NYC BigApps 3.0 participants jumpstart their entries for the competition, which challenges developers to create valuable, free apps using open NYC government data. Developers will have the chance to explore NYC Open Data, find teammates, talk to representatives from companies providing APIs, build something amazing to help NYC, and compete for $2,500 in prizes for the best hacks!
Hackathon schedule:
- Kickoff Event at Pivotal Labs: Friday, Nov. 11, 7-9 PM
- Hacking at Pivotal Labs: Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 AM to Sunday, Nov. 13 at 1 PM (all night long!)
- Presentations, Judging, Prizes: Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2:30 PM
Like NYC BigApps submissions, hacks must use data from NYC Open Data and will be judged on the quality of the idea, implementation, and potential impact.
